What Is SilkIce™?
SilkIce™ is an at-home IPL (intense pulsed light) hair removal device for women and men.
Each flash sends a pulse of light into the skin. The pigment in the hair absorbs it and turns it into heat at the root, which slows regrowth over a series of sessions.
The treatment window has built-in cooling, designed to take the edge off the warm feeling IPL can bring. Choose from 5 energy levels, and switch between auto-glide for larger areas and single flash for smaller ones.
IPL isn’t a laser, and it isn’t a one-session fix. Hair grows in cycles, so regular sessions over several weeks matter, followed by top-ups when you need them. Results vary with hair colour, skin tone and how consistently you use it.
How To Use
1. Patch Test First
Flash once on level 1 on a small area and wait 48 hours. If your skin looks normal, you’re ready to start.
2. Shave The Area
Shave before each session. Don’t wax, pluck or epilate between sessions, because IPL needs the hair root in place.
3. Start With Clean, Dry Skin
Remove lotion, deodorant, oil, makeup and fake tan from the area.
4. Plug In, Switch On & Choose A Level
Start on level 1. Move up one level at a time, only when it feels comfortable.
5. Glasses On, Then Flash
Press the cooling window flat against your skin and press the flash button. For legs and arms, switch to auto-glide and slide slowly. Don’t flash the same spot twice in one session.
6. After Your Session
Skin may look slightly pink for a few hours. Apply plain aloe vera gel if you like, and keep treated skin out of the sun.
How Often?
Follow the treatment schedule in your user manual. Regular sessions over the first few weeks matter most, then top up when you notice regrowth.

Suitability & Safety
Check your skin and hair first. IPL targets the pigment in hair, so it works best when hair is darker than the skin around it.
Best suited to: very fair to olive skin with light-brown, brown or black hair.
Not suitable for: brown or dark-brown skin, which can absorb too much light and burn. Also not for white, grey, red or light blonde hair, which has too little pigment to respond.
Don’t use SilkIce™ if you: are pregnant or breastfeeding; have sunburn, a recent tan or fake tan on the area; have broken, irritated or infected skin there, or a condition such as eczema or psoriasis; take medication that makes your skin sensitive to light (ask your pharmacist if unsure); have epilepsy or are sensitive to flashing light; or are under 18.
Never use it around the eyes, eyebrows or eyelashes; on the scalp, lips, nipples or genitals; or over tattoos, permanent makeup, moles, dark spots or birthmarks.
Every session: wear the glasses, don’t look at the flash, and only flash with the window flat on skin. Keep the device and cable away from water, so don’t use it in the bathroom. Stop if you get blistering, burning or redness that doesn’t fade, and see your GP.

Is SilkIce™ a laser?
No. It uses IPL, which sends out a broad spread of light rather than a single laser beam. Both target the pigment in hair, but IPL covers a wider area with each flash and is made for home use.
Does it hurt?
You’ll usually feel a brief warm flick with each flash. The cooling window is designed to make this more comfortable. Do a patch test, start on level 1, and only move up when it feels fine.
When will I notice a difference?
Hair grows in cycles, so regrowth slows over a series of regular sessions, not after one. Everyone’s hair is different, so we don’t promise a timeline. Follow the schedule in the manual and notice how long hair takes to grow back between shaves.
Is the hair removal permanent?
No home device can promise that. IPL reduces regrowth over time, and occasional top-up sessions help keep skin smooth.
Will it work on my skin tone and hair colour?
